It was a highly anticipated announcement in Montrose in early January 2022.

Colorado State Senator Don Coram would run to try and defeat U.S. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert R-Silt in the Third Congressional District's Republican primary.

For months, Coram along with his campaign manager JD Key drove through the district in an effort to win support for his campaign.

One one such day, Coram and Key were driving through downtown Rifle Colorado when the phone rang.

"What are you up to?" the caller asks Coram.

"We're just out here wearing out tires," Coram replied.

Coram would end up losing his primary bid. This unpublished portfolio of images are from his months-long campaign drive through rural congressional district.
